The Eagle House in Glasthule is a landmark pub in Glasthule village. Famous for years, it was taken over in 2009 by Declan McNamara, and things have taken an interesting turn since.
Glasthule is already served very well with good food; Cavistons and Rasam are both in the village, so building up a food business is tricky. Luckily, this is where Chef Sateesh Sayana came in. Originally from Hyderabad in India, Sateesh trained with the Oberoi group in India before coming to Ireland to help set up Rasam, and spent five years with them, in what is undoubtedly one of Ireland’s finest Indian restaurants. Cut a long story short, Sateesh moved downstairs to work the pub with Declan, and the results are pretty surprising.
